And as it turns out, hex editing Profile.inf's profile name actually renders the save damaged and the game won't load it (it appears crossed out in the menu). Granted, I was testing this on a hardmodded NTSC Xbox, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but I wouldn't think so, since the region lock is disabled and I was using the correct version of the game.Īlso, I don't know why I forgot about this earlier, but hex editing Profile.inf to change the profile name is actually pointless because the file that the dashboard actually uses to identify the name is the SaveMeta.xbx file. So I'm thinking that the exploit Profile.inf needs to be in its original folder to work, making it impossible to have the two saves together. Then I attempted to load it in order to boot the softmod installer, but it just crashes. Otherwise everything else is much the same, use Xplorer 360 to 'inject' the files onto the flash drive, copy them over to the xbox hard drive and then load up Splinter Cell or whichever game you're using and load the same game from the hard drive. I then deleted the new Profile.inf file from that folder and replaced it with the exploit version. I booted the PAL version of the game and created a normal profile named "LINUX_PAL." This created an appropriately named folder and SaveMeta.xbx file.
